  17. City. Though his urban-guerrilla art was dismissed as
  18. commercial, Haring won great popularity etching subway
  19. billboards with glowing babies, painting on the Berlin Wall and
  20. doodling wriggly neon creatures on T-shirts championing
  21. everything from AIDS prevention to nuclear disarmament.
